Thank you for purchasing your Bully Dog GT from BMP!  Please carefully read these instructions as they give you a quick overview of how to properly install the Bully Dog GT on your RZR or RZR. While they are more generic, you also want to read over the instructions that came with your GT.

(If your RZR or Ranger came with an interactive display, you will need to unplug all connectors on the back of the display before tuning. You can re-connect the interactive display after the tune is installed)

  1. On Polaris RZR models, remove the hood from your machine. On Polaris Ranger models, remove the passenger seat.
  2. On RZR’s, locate your data port which will be plugged into a blank clip on the firewall. On Ranger models, the data port will be located near your ECU. Next, plug in your black bully dog power junction.
  3. Using the power source cables, install the red wire to your accessory port (near the data port on RZR models) or to battery power.  The unit grounds through the data link, so there is no need to hook up the ground wire.
  4. If you plan on mounting your Bully Dog GT for gauge purposes, route your wires accordingly. If you just plan on flashing the ECU and removing the bully dog, routing wires will not be necessary, just temporarily hook everything up.
  5. Use the switch on the supplied black power box depending on what you’re doing. When programming the unit, you MUST have the switch in “battery” mode to avoid any power interruptions. When programming is complete and you want to use the GT as a gauge or any other function besides programming, turn the switch to “key”.
  6. To program your ECU to make sure the switch on the black box is set to BATTERY and turn the key on. Then select Menu > Tuning > Install Custom Tuning > Hold Down Arrow until the bottom > Agree > Continue > Download Custom Tune > Highlight Desired Tune > Select.  Make sure NOT TO TURN THE KEY OFF WHILE PROGRAMMING. When programming is complete you will see a screen that says tuning is finished. You can now turn the black box to the “key” position and cycle the key. You are now ready to ride. If you have any issues while programming, please call or e-mail.
